I am a dedicated counselor that specializes in working with Neurodivergent clients; as well as with clients diagnosed with mood disorders, complex trauma, and personality disorders. I specialize in working with emotional dysregulation, poor impulse control, self harm behavior, and behavioral concerns involving dependence on gaming, pornography, and social media use. I particularly enjoy working with children ages 10 and older, adolescents, and emergening adults (18-30).
Previously, I worked as in intensive therapy settings enabling me to effectively treat people with more severe presenting symptoms. Starting Fall 2025, I will offer school based counseling services for students with MS Medicaid in the Marshall County School District.
I am trained in CBT, DBT, TF-CBT and AutPlay to treat a variety of presenting problems. My biggest goal is to allow clients to feel comfortable and safe in the environment in which we work together. I truly believe that building rapport and having a good connection is among the most important factors of therapy.

I specialize in working with children ages 3 through 12 using client centered and trauma informed play therapy approaches. In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with my family and friends, binging my favorite shows, zoning out in the gym, and laughing- a lot.
I offer virtual sessions on Weekday evenings and on some Saturdays from our Mississippi location.

Katheryn McLendon is the Clinical Director of Hope Evergreen.
Katheryn is certified in EMDR for the treatment of trauma in children as well as adults. She is extensively trained in play therapy and is DBT informed. Katheryn is now offering counseling intensives and personal retreats allowing clients to expediate the healing process. Katheryn has a therapy dog, "Ginny," that often participates in therapy with clients to provide additional emotional support.
